I went for a jog the other day and saw a guy with an interesting looking watch so I asked him about it and told me it was a Garmin GPS watch. Looked it up and doesn't seem too pricey so might get one as I want to start jogging more frequently.

I was wondering if someone had any recommendations for other models?

I'm just looking for something basic as I did some Googling but most advice is aimed at serious runners and recommends higher end stuff which is not really suitable for my needs.

A gadget cant make you go farther or run faster...you know when you are getting to tired to continue.
Porters time and distance method will let you know your progress by having better times..or going further.

I used to have a heart rate monitor

waste of time, they are adversely effected by hydro towers and also extreme weather

some people put too much emphasis on data and should really just listen to their body, as the man say, you know when you can push and when you should not
