There was a recent article about how Chrome was not yet ready for MAC's.. Not sure how true that is but it well maybe that Apple has no version available..

it's available now for download. haven't tried it myself but I might give it a go, see what the fuss is about...

Like Allen said get rid of all your toolbars. They are a mess waiting to happen...

Well that is a good point, but here is what I would look at on the Tool Bar...

Do you have Smiley Central.. ( Hence a Bunch of Silly Smileys ).. Hotbar is another..

Basically they are spyware and can take control of your PC.. Hiding them will only hide and not solve the problem.. And regardless of the Browser you have, it will only continue and get worse..

If you can get Firefox up and running again, go to Tools / Add-On and disable those should you see them..

Then I would run a spyware scanner.. Yes these could infect your PC if you say YES anyway to them and let them install..

This is all I think think of at this time.. It was a problem I came across on someone else PC a long time ago that had the same issue..

I disabled the ONLY tool bar I had and trusted which was google and the problem disappeared. The language was set to US, not sure why it kept translating to spanish.. and I did do the spyware check and only found the 1 virus, which i removed. It works fine now, i just hate that I dont have my google toolbar.

Although this has no guaranteeing of working, install XMarks. This is a free program that keeps a copy of your bookmarks on a server and even your passwords (if you trust it) and can be used to synch up bookmarks on multiple computers (pcs and macs). I have no idea if there are any privacy issues with this, but it works well for me. Then use the Windows Uninstall feature to remove Firefox, and then reinstall. Then you'll have to find and reinstall any addons you use like Google toolbar.
