I heard that a small percentage will get a longer form with more questions. What bugs me is that it didn't ask if anyone was or wasn't a citizen. The count is in part to determine the distribution of congressmen. It's pretty fucked up that they use the number of all people rather than just citizens.

Just because it's always been this way doesn't make it right, and doesn't mean we have to continue doing it. Notice that I didn't say non-citizens shouldn't be counted; of course they should. I'm saying that the House of Representatives exists for the citizens, and so only the number of citizens should count toward deciding how many Representatives each state gets.

I agree, but if you look at reality, how many illegals do you think will be willing to put their names down on a piece of paper and send it in to the government? I understand that the government can't do anything with it but count (by law) But try explaining that to someone that won't risk getting sent back home

most of those illegal immigrants are trying to earn a living, they are too scared to tell the government where they are living. I think that would be a mixed-bag of results.

Well its addressed to "resident" so they don't make it sound every important.

Lucky I like junk mail. I might of missed out completely. :eek

Actually.... the envelope was big enough and says United States Census 2010. And there's the little box on the left that states:

U.S. Census Form Enclosed
YOUR RESPONSE
IS REQUIRED BY LAW

Big Brother knows who you are and where you reside and what you are doing.... Don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise. They have..... ways...... :ninja

I filled mine out, and totally forgot to take it with me on my mail run. It was in with the full size envelopes that need more than regular postage. Damn!

I think it's pretty cool, and very important, but that's because I'm a genealogy junkie and love looking through old census reports. I'd like to think in 100 years or so, someone will come across this one, see my name, and wonder what my life story was.

And I think my ego just outgrew my living room. :24:
