Unfortunately, Oregon does not currently publicize the registered sex offenders living within the state. Consequently, we are unable to provide any information about Oregon's sex offender population.

In discussions with Oregon state officials, we learned that Oregon does plan to provide a web-based registry of its sex offenders. Their planned implementation date is July 1, 2006.

We will eagerly await the introduction of Oregon's online sex offender registry. As soon as Oregon data is available, we will provide it to Family Watchdog visitors.

horray for me.. :tard

No...but I'd like them able to butter...

We have a registry we can look up in the State of Texas. You can get not only their names and addresses, but they have their photos and links to their files available.

I found this out several years ago when I was overseeing the local Little League in Orange. Every time we would move, I'd be looking up the location in advance. I turned down several really nice places because of those sick bastards.

yeah lolz at bread, but it's really not worth pointing out, it's just a typo.

And this site hasn't been around for an extremely long time. Since Megan's law came into effect, so I think it's been around about six years or so, I could be mistaken. But it hasn't been extremely well known since it's been a slippery slope, clashes with public vs. private information on convicted criminals and all that good jazz.

I'm with you on that one, but I do think that giving out their exact physical addresses is a bit much. I like how the map's set up, it shows the schools and the playgrounds, and what street the offender lives on and where it's located in proximity to the schools and playgrounds, I think that's enough there. Show a picture, but a physical address is a bit much, in my opinion. Keep in mind I have no pity, sympathy, or understanding for people who commit these crimes, no matter what the severity, at ALL....I just think the address thing is a BIT much, that's all.

I remember the worst thing of all, though...

I was looking up the volunteers for the Little League one year, and I found one of my really good friend's husband listed. I called her to ask what had happened (you know, giving them the benefit of the doubt), and as it turned out, he had been convicted for acts with her daughter...who still lived with them both. I was floored.

I actually had her daughter come live with me until she got rid of the loser. She divorced him and moved to Alabama, taking all three of her children to her mother's house. I haven't heard much of them since...but I'm sure her daughter is really screwed up still. It took me several months to help her understand none of it was her fault...but you know how all that goes...

euthanizing = killing humanely.

Not only will they not be able to breed, they won't be able to breathe.

Oh...and the time before last that we moved...there was a registered sex offender right next door. But...he met us out in the yard one day and informed us of that fact himself...and also said that he was moving out of state within the next month...and he did. *shrugs*

I really didn't think much of it.
