I personally believe that if a single enemy is going to threaten my rights as a free man, I wouldn't mind accepting the draft. But, if it was for a reason that I don't agree with, I'm not going to accept it.

We aren't in a draft situation yet, so I don't know for sure of course. Just stating the way I see it.

But in the draft thread, you see people talking about going to Canada if there was a draft. Why? Is it because they do not think that terrorists are a threat to this country and the freedoms that the western world has? Or is it because this generation is morally decayed? Do people not remember how the American people were just about brought economically to their knees?

Personally, I think that terrorists ARE a threat to this country and others. This was evident way before 9/11. But it took 9/11 for the government and the American public to collectively pull their heads out of the orifice on their back sides to do something about it.

We either bow to their ways or we protect our way of life. But sitting back and doing nothing or running to Canada is crap IMO. Maybe if I didn't think this war was worthwhile I'd see it differently. ;)
Well you see thats the thing, you will never ever ever ever stop terrorism, because you can't fight ideas, unless you totally brainwash them. I wouldn't like to be drafted for this "cause" because its a totally illegal war in which I do not believe in and I think is a major waste in resources and human life. Its also over hyped and the administration is fear mongering. They are actually selling you the myth that there's a terrorist around every corner, under every stone, and inside ever cabinet! Why? Because they need support for a war that is failing. Its a very common tactic.

I don't like your argument that our generation is somehow morally decade if we don't join in lock-step with this quagmire of a war. If anything, this generation is morally just and right in disagreeing with something they see as wrong.

Yes, we were brought to our knees, but simply bounced back in a relatively short amount of time.

No one is debating that terrorist are a 0% threat to this country, terrorists are always a threat, homegrown or foreign, but unlike the hyped up crap the media sells to you, the chances of you being a victim of a terrorist attack is very very slim especially with all the measures (legal and illegal) being taken now.

Glad you're back on here buddy :)

Yeah, fatigue is a problem. That's when training/instinct/and a will to survive kick in. When your ass is on the line, you'll find a way to cope plain and simple.

I guess these troops just couldn't cope:

U.S. Deaths Confirmed By The DoD: 3706
Reported U.S. Deaths
Pending DoD Confirmation: 1
Total 3707
DoD Confirmation List

Iraq Coalition Casualties
And don't even try to imply that I'm disrespecting any one of those 3707 troops. I personally know 2 people on that list who died WHILE I was fucking over there.

I've been in the back of an ambulance giving first aid to an Iraqi soldier while he bled the fuck out in front of me. I saw another one who had his jaw taken off by a sniper's bullet.

Don't talk to me like I don't get the sacrifice these people are making. This is shit I think about every single goddamn day.

I'm sure you know first hand the sacrifice if you were there.
I am just making the point that it is not the troops fault that they/the military suffer from fatigue, they are coping to the best of their ability as I'm sure you will agree. It is the mismanagement of this war that has caused the strain on our troops. Surely you recall of rotations being 6-8 months, now they're 15. And the equipment is wore out, hell, the 'Iraq war' is wore out.
It's time to support our troops, bring them home!

Fight this war on terror with intelligence and covert actions.
