These are things you do or have done or will do as a Dad.

Been sprayed with urine while changing a diaper.
Rocked a baby in the middle of the night.
Taught to throw a ball.
Taught to throw a frisbee.
Held a crying child after a fall.
Spent Christmas eve assembling a toy into the wee hours of the morning.
Only to discover the next day the kid had more fun with the box it came in.
And the box lasted longer than the toy.
Bandaged a boo-boo.
Scheduled your week around an event in your child's life.
Scheduled a vacation to be chaperone for a child's field trip.
Bought ice cream only to help with the tears.
Stopped only at the fast food joints with kid's toys when on a trip.
Coached your child in a sport.
Taught to bat & catch.
Consoled a child when they failed at something.
Helped assemble school projects.
Spent your Saturday washing cars as a fundraiser.
Been the answer man about everything in life mechanical or electronic.
Kissed a sleeping child and adjusted their covers.
Carried a 2 year old to 12 year old in the house after a long day.
Been a jungle gym and a wrestling partner.
Competed in events like golf & tennis with your child.
Sweated and gotten burned watching your child compete in swim meets.
Sweated & frozen in the same year while watching a child in the marching band.
Scheduled with your spouse as to which events each of you drive your kids too.
OLD TIMES: Watch everything your child did through a viewfinder on a 30 pound camcorder.

These are true on the most part for Moms too.

More:

Held your child while they got stitches.
Taught then to pray.
Helped them learn to read.
Taught them to compete fairly.
Amazed them with little tricks.
Played harder with your children than you ever played in your life.
Seen them pass you athletically and been proud.
Taught them math and helped them practice.
Held someone else's child because you were coaching the team and the parents weren't there when the child broke his arm.
Been "THE DAD" in the neighborhood.

my old man used to do a lot of crazy things, but he always made sure he was home for supper so we could discuss our day of school with him....

All of that hits home except the swim meet and marching band. My kids are 18 and 14 now and I really miss having a little kid around. I'm mostly an ATM now, they dont lean on me for everything the way the did in the past and I miss it.
