I'm all signed up! What's this pre-draft player rankings thing? Does it mean I get to assign a number to people based on whether I'd like to have them on my team or something?

Precisely.

If you aren't planning on being at the live draft you can rank all the players in order of preference and then when your team gets auto-drafted it will pick your highest ranked player who is still on the board.

Since you're a football newb, I'd advise against messing with Yahoo's rankings They are usually pretty good.

I realised all the players have little pictures next to their names, so I went through and ranked them according to who had the biggest smile.

Thus, my number one player of choice is currently Larry Fitzgerald. He is one happy-looking motherfucker!
