Family gatherings?

How often do you have family gatherings? Do you think the family should gather more often? How much?

Our family stopped after my grandparents passed.

Our entire family can gather only once a year, during October festival when workplace and schools close for the holiday. However, we do have small gathering of few family members at least once a month.

We usually have our family gatherings once a year by January. We also have our family gatherings during special occasions like weddings and birthdays.

For my immediate family, I and my siblings often gather in the family house every last Sunday of the month. We just come around, catch cruise, contribute to cook a special meal and eat together. It is almost like a ritual that no one misses. Those moments make my mom so cheerful.

Usually just around certain holidays for me, like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I wouldn't mind seeing them more often but it's hard when they work all the time and I work all the time.

We have a family gathering at least once a month. Any occasion like birthday, anniversary we celebrate together by dining outside or at home. Also, on festivals we gather and celebrate.

There's actually no specific time that we have family gatherings in a year. It can be anytime, so it is not fixed. But no year passes by without having a gathering in our family.

Ours is a huge family from both my husband's side and my side. So, a complete family gathering does not happen. People are settled in different continents. However, we meet most of them on certain occasions like marriages, anniversary etc. I meet my mother and brother's family at least once every year. Same with my husband's immediate family. For those who stay in the same city, we meet frequently at least 5 to 6 times in a year.
