Faking Injuries?

is this going to be the new way to get game delays? what sort of punishment should be dolled out for the fakers?

I remember seeing some teams doing that to U of Oregon last year. Pathetic. Start making a player miss the rest of the quarter if the dont truly appear to be injured.

There were accusations from Auburn fans last year that GA faked some injuries for the same reason. The discussion at work was NOT friendly when someone suggested that it's probably done quite often on the football field. Their reasoning was that the players lay on the ground looking all hurt and get up (with help, mind you) and walk away fine. That football is a physical sport where one risks injuries didn't play into their reasoning.

There was tape of an Oregon game last year where they showed a coach signal a player and he immediately fell down. If a player is down and the ref has to stop play that player has to come off the field for one play. I say if they act hurt and the clock stops they should have to miss the rest of that series.

I was going to say the same thing. I'm thinking if you are a fan of the team that is faking the injury to slow down the opposing team you are ok with this game play.

This is no worse than the non kicking team calling a time out right before a kicker goes to kick a field goal. So stupid and pathetic.

I would be kinda embarrassed if my team resulted to faking injuries but I am perfectly ok with the timeout before the kick.

If one team has done it or continues to do it I think it's safe to say they all do it.
