Here's my two cents seeing as how it's Chris who had a problem with Peter. It smacks of deja vu when Lemon was treated the same way.

In both cases, Lemon and Peter were commenting on Iraq and the U.S.'s involvement there. It's obvious that it hurts Chris to hear talk like that, but if everyone in this world, let alone this country, were in agreement, then, well, there would peace and harmony, no such thing as arguing, no wars, nothing in the negative sense. "Imagine," as John Lennon wrote and sang.

But this is the real world and people do have differences of opinion. I'm sorry some people take it so personal. And I hope that Chris and Peter both come back and perhaps just don't "cross paths," but enjoy the forum, nonetheless.

I don't want to whore up this thread, but both individuals were guilty of throwing insults, to say that Chris acted only out of spite for what was said about Iraq is a bad reflection on this site.

Chris did what mods are expected to do, enforce the rules. IN debat, pretty much anything flys except personal attacks and insults.

Sometimes I think that if people learned the forum rules, they would not need to get called out by mods/admin to learn them.

Well said Charmer. As I said it is the mix that makes this work. In life generally. What a boring place it would be if all we did was to sing Kumbayah all the time, as lovely a song as it is.

Pity tho that Bacon got so personal on this thread. I looked at it before and really was at awe as to what to say.

I understand the rules and actually I think that quitting over an infraction that will go away in 10 days is pretty weak. But the situation seems so similar to a past one that I had to comment.

And yes, the wording and "tone" of a post is very important if you want to get a point across and also perhaps put the person down that you're replying to or lightly insult them without getting infracted or put on probation.

Hell, I've been infracted on other forums and I just laugh them off and move on without comment. No biggie for me. But if things become too personal on a forum for me, which has never happened in any serious sense, then I would just take a break or perhaps find another forum that is similar. Perhaps that is the point that Peter got to.

Posting it here as well, Hope Bacon reads it.

First off, I am female. (As in NOT a him or he.)

Secondly, it was the implication that Americans are killing innocent Iraqis that I found offensive.

And thrid, I too was admonished for the name calling.
And I went back and edited it because I was wrong for resorting to name calling. And I want to make it clear that I was not calling him that name because of his Aspergers, I wasn't even thinking about him having that at the time. I understand that when I tagged the word 'savant' on there it did make it seem as if that was exactly what the intention was.
But it wasn't.
My own son has a whole lot of complications due to his extremely premature birth, So whether you believe me or not. The truth is I wasn't trying to use his Aspergers against him.
But since the whole ball of wax has come out I will state right here and now that I do believe he uses his Aspergers as an excuse every time he gets called out for being a jerk.
I am prior military. One of the things they drum into your head is that Excuses will not be tolerated. So I do take objection to that behavior and maybe that came out in my post. It wasn't the intention though.
I am a noob around here. So no one will be hurt if I bail.
And that's what I intend to do.

Please don't leave Uncle Bacon, this whole mess was my fault, And I'm sorry.

Once again I am stating that the names I called Peter were because of his actions and not because of his Aspergers.

if you look at what i said in the "what has offtopicz chained your opinions on " i actually mentioned you there.
the views on iraq posted and found to be a bit on the raw side are what is often reported on our news and the anti american media view here is quite strong due to the war,
it has been a pleasure and a privilege to have actually been able to speak here with americans who have experienced iraq and have been able to give me an american service mans perspective on the situation.it has all in all softened my view and given me much to think about concerning this topic.
it would be a great loss not to have your input and views here for that alone.
