So where would this forum have been if the day OT came to invade. Mods didnt have power to Ban or infract? Would you have rather read through pages of all the shit they posted? Neither V nor Tim were on when it started. It was me and Chris handling it to begin with. We are here to help v and Tim. all the mods are. We try our best to help keep this the place we love.

Case in point.

When people belong to a forum for so long. They tend to get caught up in it. Feelings (either good or bad) do get tangled up sometimes. Though as mods we try to keep an unbiased opinion. Not always possible but thats why the mod room is there. To discuss what infractions are given. And if need be reversed.

You say that we are grown adults here and do not need hand slaps? Thats crazy. infractions and watchful mods/admins are necessary to keep this place running as good as it does.

It seems that some people can say and do what they please, but others are constantly being given "infractions". Do what you wish, as long as you don't piss a mod off?? What Peter originally said was not even aimed at a single person, he simply made a comment showing he is against the Iraq war.... And guess what, the military contingent of this forum get their knickers in a knot. I am also against the war... who is going to give me an infraction??

The way I see it is this....this board is sponsored by Veronica.....SHE chooses how things go, SHE chooses who is Administration and Mods, SHE decides how she wants things to be done here....as far as I can see, things as far as infractions/warnings are done pretty fairly, but for the most part unless someone gets pissy about their warnings/infractions and posts it in a thread, no one knows about it because it's done behind closed doors! As far as what's brought all this stuff on, leave it between Chris and Peter....Yes, I'd hate to see either of them go, but you know what? No matter what we all say or do, they are still going to make up their own minds. And to be honest, the blatant disrespect towards V and Tim I've seen a few times by more than one member pisses me off....if you don't like what V has to say, tell her, and if you don't like her response, get over it, or get lost! Simple as that!


That being said, I love it here! For the most part this is a great place to be! But people aren't going to like everyone that comes here! It's just human condition to fight amongst ourselves! But we ARE all supposed to be adults here! When name calling and fights arise, let those in charge take care of it, and the rest stay out of it! This way we have a lot less of this crap that's happening right now going on!

On The Superficial forums, someone was given access to the mod forums, (through a mistake of the admin, since she was supposed to be banned). She ended up saving all the topics in the mod's forum and sending them to many members of the site.

It was beyond hilarious to see all the mods and the admin eat their words on what they said in those forums.

HA! I was on a forum where the Mod Room was "accidently" left opened and we peons read all of the posts in that room; and yes, there was trash talking about certain people.

I agree, it was frickin' hilarious!

It just goes to show you that everyone, regardless of their title and "power," is just like every non-titled, unempowered person in this world.

But to get personal in infractions is wrong, but it happens in every forum that I've been on and done in a very obvious manner. So, win some, lose some......and then move on.

I agree with BDN, step away from your computer, go out into the Real World and live, then come back here when you're rejuvenated. I stopped coming here for a big, long FOUR DAYS last week! OMG! I got a lot done and felt freer, in a way; my head cleared up,; I breathed the fresh air.....

That's all we can do because that IS what forums are for, to "hear" other people's opinions........and we all have them, (I'm pretty sure, right? Or should another forum be made where everyone agrees with everyone else and Kumbaya is playing in the background? It would be very, very boring, of course).

Some people, as in Real Life, get butthurt by people have a different opinion than they do and use whatever method they can to "get back" at the person or those people. Some people are more open-minded and realize that, "Hey! not everyone sees this situation the same way I do!" What a revelation, huh?!

When the wording/tone of the said opinion is visibly meant to irritate, anger, and annoy someone (especially under circumstances that are sensitive and heated) .. then yes .. it should be infraction worthy imo.

Just because someone thinks it's insulting doesn't mean thats the way it is intended. Thus we have a problem, overreaction leads to infractions which leads to threads like this and people leaving.

That said, before I joined this forum a couple of years ago, I would log on as a guest just to see what the "tone" was and I got the feeling that the people here where very cool, down to earth, and most of all, seemed very real and "normal." And it was going great. This is actual the first "serious" thing I've noticed going down since I've been here.

This should be one of the guidelines in every internet forum and actually, every company and school, too.

I don't agree with you....I don't think that people here (for the MOST part) make up things....yes, it's may be "just the internet" but a LOT of us here have formed very real friendships, some even formed relationships. To a lot of us here this is a place to come to visit with FRIENDS not just some other random forum members.
