I sneeze into my elbow. I've got to figure out how to empty it tho, it's getting kinda full in there.

This is a truly horrible moment as a waiter. When you are approaching a table with food and you feel a sneeze coming on. What you gonna do?!? I have on ocasion when unable to cover my mouth with my hand, sneezed into my elbow. Or rather the inside of my elbow

would put the tray down at the closest table, sneeze into a napkin, handkerchief, whatever and go wash hands and apologize to the customers...

Wow, I'm not going to that hospital. They rather I'd stayed home anyway. I'd just go to another hospital.

I think they should had explain more am sure they wanted to say something like if you are not feeling very sick take some panadol and don't run to the hospital with a little thing you see happening to you

as there is people that run to the hospital with every little pain they may have while the doctors can spend the time looking after more serious problem s so i will agree too...... stay at home and go to the hospital if you feel very uncomfortable

but about sneezing to the elbow that is very weird :D

I guess the chances of you then doing a lot of touching of things with your elbows is fairly slim.

Coughing and/or sneezing into your elbow is actually proper medical/hygienic procedure, especially in a medical facility(Hospital, nursing home, etc). The idea is that you do it into the crease of your elbow, and it not only sends less germs into the air due to the fact that you're covering the majority of your face if you do it properly, but you don't touch things with your elbow as much as you do with your hands, so it's a tad bit more hygenic.

Of course not, a tissue is much better. But in a situation, for example, when a waiter is taking your order/carrying your food, or a doctor is in a patient's room and talking to that patient, or other situations like this where hygiene is important, if a tissue isn't readily available, the next best thing is to do the action into the spot where your elbow bends(On the inside of your arm). The thing is, it seems weird to a person who doesn't know about this, but once you do it a few times, it becomes a habit.

Ah okay, I see. I just thought it was unusual to put the elbow down as the preferable option on the poster when I always thought tissues were the better choice.

Pretty interesting about the elbows though.

They actually teach children to sneeze into their elbow now, it makes perfect sense youre not putting germs on your hands to spread. You do all know what they mean by elbow right? the inside of your arm at your elbow. I am actually shocked more of you havent heard of that.
