Public education has nothing to do with it. Dumbass parents beget dumbass children. Too much Facebook, Twitter and Xbox and too little reading strikes again.

Just as there is crap on TV and in Books there is crap on the internet..
If you, as a parent, don't spend time looking at sites that educate your children you are as much to blame..
I would often sit down and look at things with my son.. I still often look at sites ( NASA, Discovery ) and do searches of valid information with him..
People have turned the Monitor into what the TV used to be.. A cheap Baby sitter and would rather be doing things alone than together..

You really should stick to sports and panty and fingernail painting threads - you don't quite have the comprehension to participate in threads that requiring critical and abstract thinking.

I have a 21 year old and an 8 year old.. Yes quite the spread between the ages.. And my 21 year old has ADD / ODD and was one of the few "Special Behavior" kids to actually pass High School and make it to College.. She is taking classes to assist kids with special needs like her..
Perhaps we are but you have a way to seemingly dig into subjects that makes it sound like you are very angry at the world.. Have you every tried to step back and read your own posts from a non-bias perspective.. Hence think of them as someone else's posts..
Further more you seem to think Technology is the downfall of society.. It is only when it is not used properly.. Hence why you would Slag Facebook, Twitter, XBox and such.. What I said is if Parents were to use that technology properly and not as a nanny to baby sit children, than it would be a much better tool..
And yes when my 21 year old lived at home until she was 18 years old I would CUT off the internet so she would go to bed and not play games until 3 am and attend school.. Hence why she is in college today and thanks me for it..

Okay will do. It was a joke. You said kids don't read. When everything that you posted has to do with reading. Maybe you ment to say read educational material. Take it for what it is. Not everything has to be about conspiricy and propaganda. Take a midol.

If the parents don't activily participate in the education of their kids - *reading to them (books and internet et al *clarification for the perceptually impared) and guiding them - it makes no difference which type of school babysat them. Parents who park their kids in front of unsupervised computer monitors and television sets are the same ones that expect the school system to babysit them. That's how we wind up with the collective societal dumbassery we see in the OP.
