Mine was #2. Now that the league is over, I'll be making a thread sometime this coming week w/ more pictures from the Indian Mounds.

Congratulations, PD, for winning this round!!!

I'll admit, I expected mine to do better than 1 vote (thanks, Francis, LOL)...but when I saw some of the other pictures, they blew mine out of the water. Good job, folks!!!

I liked that one a lot.... story behind it?

I took the picture a month ago at the Peterson.org museum of cars when we were in LA. The place is a fantastic place to see old cars of all types. My son amazed me at how he would see a car 100 feet away and call out exactly what it was.. :eek

How does a kid 8 years old get to know what a Bugatti is down to the finer details when Dad is more into airplanes and Electronics... Amazing what they learn from Hot Wheels.. :24:

I liked it because it would have seemed so peaceful to walk down that trail.

It really is. I <3 it. :) I haven't been in over a month now and I really miss it. We WERE going every other Saturday. I'll post up some more pictures sometime this week so you guys can see how beautiful it is out there. My cousin swears that being on top of the Great Temple Mound is a spiritual experience for her. :)

It's hard when you have so many great shots to go with. Making a choice can be difficult.. So picking one over the others doesn't always mean the others were bad. It just meant that one you picked had that little extra meaning for you in what was "in the picture" or "how it was taken" in my opinion.

I agree. Actually, I think most of my votes this competition have not been for the winning pictures. Some of the ones that won were actually my least favorite. That's no slight on those pictures...they're just not what *I* am drawn to.

Yeah, it's tough.

Some pictures have gotten votes that I've looked at and gone "WTF? Really?". Everybody has different things that they look for in a photo that grabs their attention, or what they like. Doesn't necessarily mean that the others are "bad", just that everyone looks for different things. It's so subjective.

I picked my picture for this round, because I love it--and I also thought it would get more votes than it did. I thought it would appeal to a broad range of tastes....but guess not, LOL.

@Francis: It was by the way me to vote your picture. ^^ (You just cannot see my name, because I was the one to first mis-vote; that's why my name appears at picture 6, but was counted for your picture then - thanks to Siph and Natasha :)).

I was really torn between your pic (so great; I love such "retro style") and purple dove's pic (which is great, too), and I really considered it to be a pity that your pic got not even one vote. oO I still don't understand it, but tastes are different. :)

Btw: how did you take that pic? The scenery, with these people in it, is perfect. oO Were there some kind of actors or how could you take this picture?

It was taken in a museum. The picture is a scene in the museum of the old days with the person ( mannequin ) standing in front of the real car. It looked so cool and took me about 5 minutes to get the exact positioning to fit just what I wanted in the picture.

Thank you for the vote ;)
