It's all taken in context.... what we are trying to avoid is when posts turn into a conversation in the middle of a thread when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

We understand that there will be posts that stray from the topic, that's not the problem. It's when a thread is hyjacked, taken so far off topic that you need a compass to find your way back... It's just rude to do that in someones thread when we have so many places to go Offtopic.

I can understand that. I hate when I start a thread and people drive it completely off-course. Digressions are natural, but I've seen it get outta hand.
 
Well I reckon I better just not talk much then .. because I am the worlds worst IRL and online of getting off track .. when something mentioned sparks something else .. I tend to just spit it out and away I go. Going to another thread to talk confuses people, they don't see it, and then what you said just gets swept under the rug. So better to just not say it under these circumstance I suppose.

Guess my offtopic posts at offtopicz.net will soon become pretty slim. Kinda sucks so many people have to get their panties ina bunch and make a forum crack down like we're in jail like this. I have more free reign of what I do/say at work than I will here now.

I mean I know some people just do it to be asses .. but yikes
 
It has come to my attention that some people could care less about the rulez of this site. I am gonna post them AGAIN (in here this time). This is everyone's LAST warning- If I see ANYONE violating these rulez from this post forward, you will be infracted immediately and I will not help you in regards to it. Myself and the other mods are getting sick and tired of all the bickering, so we are gonna start punishing the people that are at fault for it. I suggest you DONT make anymore rude or insulting posts.

That was the only thing she added, basically there is no need for added drama via threads or posts involving a beef with another member, take it to a mod or p/m's what is so bad about that?

I don't see it as an infringement, but rather promoting a better way to deal with conflicts than throwing insults.
 
I dunno .. signing up to a forum named "offtopicz.net" then complaining that people are posting off topicz .. lol it's like dating someone who drinks beer then deciding after you've been dating a couple weeks that you just really dont' want them to and complaining about it.

Kinda silly imo to get your knickers in that big of a knot over a thread on an internet forum. People come to forums to BS, joke around, and have a good time .. not get got onto every 5 minutes, course .. I do realize that some people act like they ar ein daycare at times .. still doens't make it suck any less for the ones who usually act right most of the time.

I do not think the specific issue was straying off topic, if you read what I quoted the specific issue was insulting members and taking disputes into the open forum.;)

I think everyone knows that topics are going to stray, and for the most part it gets pretty much let go unless it gets way out of hand.

The biggest issue was in the quote in my post above. If you read this entire thread you will see that all the issues you have brought up have been discussed.

And what attracted me to this place is it wasn't like some of the other forums, I like it for that reason but the name Offtopicz doesn't mean free reign to do whatever you want without guidelines:p

Not exactly what I said, and I wasn't addressing the res tof what was brought up .. I was only talking about the going off topic section .. but I've been gone for over 12 hours .. my feet hurt .. my brain is fuzzy .. I said my peace and I'm done talking about it. I wasn't really trying to/not gonna debate it .. it was just a statement of my opinion :).
