What Christmas Traditions do you have around your house that you do every year.

For me, from when I was a child to now, There was always one gift to be opened on Christmas Eve right before bed, and then the rest the next morning. I can remember always looking forward to that one gift, It was always something simple, new pajama's or a game. but it was the excitment of not having to wait until morning, and the excitment of getting a sneak peak, made it almost that much harder to wait till morning to open the rest of them.
Although there was always more there in the morning then there was when I went to bed:confused

Then the excitment changed when I got to see the excitment in my daughter as she would wait on christmas eve, wondering which gift she was going to get to open, but knowing that when she did it would be time for bed, wanting to get it, but not wanting to give up the night.

I love traditions.. so many past memories, and new ones every year.

An old family traditon was when he'd go around the neighbour hood, or some random neightbour hood in general, and look at Christmas decorations. Last year, we weren't very traditional at all. In fact, we didn't even put the Christmas lights on our house. This Christmas, we're gonna make up for last year's Christmas flop.

Me and my family was the same as your SilentEyz! Exactly. Me and my brother always got to open 1 gift right before we went to bed on christmas eve and it was always come christmas pajamas. Now my mom and dad do the same for my kids. It gets them all excited!

On christmas eve the whole family would get together at my uncles log cabin in Vermont. The fireplace was roaring, me and my cousins were out snowmobiling in the field. At around 8 there was a big feast prepared by my aunt and after dinner was a drawing to see who got to play santa that year. the one big tradition was that the year before we would all draw names of family members, and that was who we were to buy gifts for the following year. Since I moved to Maryland in 2001 ive missed out on that. i miss doin that but in my eyes it will never be the same since my grandfather passed away

When I was a kid, really little and still living in Norway, my dad would wake me up really early on Christmas, before it was even light out. He'd take me and my sister for a walk through the snow, and then at home we'd get something hot to drink while we waited for mom to get up. Then we'd open presents, eat breakfast, and relax. And then we'd go to church. After moving to Canada, it was pretty much the same idea, but the scenery wasn't quite as pretty.

Now, since Matt doesn't celebrate Christmas, it's not a really big affair at all. Mostly we just get little presents for our friends and something small for each other, nothing big. Matt and I try to spend a lot of time at his parents' to celebrate Hanukkah, mostly.

I choose not to bother with Christmas too much, don't see the point as I'm not religious. I'm not being a killjoy and do something though not traditional. I have other friends who arn't really bothered with Christmas and they come round to my place, I cook a huge turkey and we spend the entire day watching all the Lord of the Rings (extended versions!) films back to back while drinking loads of beer. Not everyones idea of a good time, I know, but we really enjoy it. I'm so glad I don't go through all that stress of Christmas shopping, I'm not really into decorations too much and I've no idea where I could fit a Christmas tree in at my place anyway! :)
