We were driving at night Saturday and my wife decides a McDonald's coffee would be good and she needed to stretch a minute. I pull off the interstate at the next exit I see the golden arches. As we are going toward the place I am trying to watch the traffic and where the turn in is when she asks,"Is it in a service station?" I responded' "I don't know!" and I guess I sounded exasperated because she got real quiet for a while.

happens to me all the time. fortunately, after my divorce, almost all my ex's had a sense of humor and if they saw me grin they'd start laughing and just push me or something. but i generally could tell what kind of mood they were in and wouldn't push it.
