Ever have an analogy stick with you?

When I was in high school I was in a class of all guys and we were watching out the window as the girls walked by and as we were prone to do making a lot of comments and cat whistles.

Our teacher walked in and he was close to retirement age and he described us so well it stuck with me over 35 years.

"You boys are like that dog chasing a car, you would have no idea what to do if you caught one."

I work with alot of older guys at work they have the best analogys. I will try and think of afew of them.

Rob at work was talking about his new hair cut and he though he looked great. So Dan said to him.

"Rob you have to remember you can't make gold out of a bucket of shit"

Another one from Dan about my driving

"Scott you couldn't drive a stick into a bucket of dog shit"

Or me trying to put a 3/4 line into a 1/2 fitting

"thats like a watermelon trying to fuck a straw"

There are so many more I hear in a run of a day I just can't remember of the top of my head. Old guys are the best at analogys.

At 16 to 17 most of us were described very correctly by his analogy.

Some analogies are just too perfect. Bull in a china shop for example.
