I'm not totally educated on the different forms of European governments, but don't you guys mostly have representative governments? i.e. Do you vote or cast ballots? I know the Monarchy is set (I'm totally jazzed that the Queen is here BTW), but PM is up for grabs right?

Yes we have the Simpsons, it's very popular here, the Queen is nothing more than a tourist attraction with no real powers. We are a democracy but unfortunately stupid and brain washed people can vote. I guess there really is a case for democracy not working! (Homer Simpson said it, not me! )

I still want to go to the States next year to watch Beckham play for L.A Galaxy, I have been to West Palm beach Florida when I was a kid but need to do the US again because last time I could not drink or smoke nothing!

They are not forgotten, my family has been in the Army for generations and my great great uncle Noel Chavasse is one of the only people ever to win the Victoria cross twice. I am proud of what people in the past did for us and it is still remembered today like it will in 200 or 300 years time.

But there is a time to move on and look at the future.

It was the same with Iraq, at first I thought it was a good thing but now looking at how many troops the US and the UK has lost, was it really worth it.

Now it is going to continue, how many more are going to be killed?

Iraq is in a complete mess now, only someone like Saddam could control that place, who now can sort that place out? Not the UK or the US only the Iraq people but they just hate the west and more bad than good is going to come out of that war torn country.

I thinks its a myth that the average Iraqi hates us, it's just the fundamentalist nutters who do, Iraq seems more at war with each other, Sunni v Sheite in my opinion, I disagreed with the war because we were the aggresors and there was no threat from Iraq but I'll leave it as that as that is being discussed on another thread if you want to get involved. Also I do appreciate the USAs effort in the war and yes they did help us out but without trying to sound cynical it's my own people I feel more sorry for in WW2, no American civillians died or were under threat unlike the thousands who died in my country. My dear old nan lived in the East End through the blitz and what they went through was terrible.
