I don't know why, but I knew Young was going to miss the penalty. I had a bad feeling when I watched his face on TV, there were no confidence in it.

I don't think Cole is the most appropiate player to launch the final penalty, I would've bet Terry was going to do it. Despite his behavior, he was the former captain and has more personality than Cole.

Anyway, if Spain achieves the final, either Germany or Italy will be a great match. I saw Italy really strong yesterday.

I can't see Italy beating Germany, but who knows. England made Italy look better than they really were.

I'd back Germany over Italy any day. I think they and Spain will be in the final. Just like 2008.

Thing I like about Germany is they can play a number of different ways. They can go out and dominate a team like they did against Greece, or they can sit back and launch stinging counters.

I was meant to be going out for the long weekend but due all the rain, if I go, I wont be able to come back... sooo it looks like I'll probably be watching the game now.

So Spain to thrash Portugal tonight for me. There is a big difference in class, and don't let anyone fool you otherwise.

It's rubbish how they are labelled "boring" because they play tiki taka. It also shows a general ignorance, with people saying "all they do is pass the ball", well no they don't, tiki taka is way more than that. But let's not acknowledge those trolls.

I'd expect Spain to win here.

It boggles the mind.

Bar right-back, Spain are strong everywhere. Portugal on the other hand; weak goal keeper, weak defence, No good strikers, and the average Veloso. Hardly a great team.

Been a very good half, Portugal have pressed Spain a lot and looked dangerous. Spain have had a couple of chances but haven't really got going attacking wise. Second half is set up nicely.

Del Bosque has got it wrong. Torres needed to come on.

Spain through on penalties. Ramos joins Pirlo in the cool bastards list.

Portugal made a bad decision sending Alves up for the fourth after the fourth, it shook him. Always going to miss. But Spain deserved to go through overall.

Germany vs Italy tonight. I wouldn't expect Germany to need any more than the 90 minutes to knock Italy out.

In all seriousness I've had £5 on 2 matches to go to penalties (3's), Gomez top scorer/Germany winners £5 on it (12's) and £5 on Germany to concede the least goals £5 (10's).

Good returns if they come off, but it's difficult to call.

Currently 2 matches have gone to penalties, so no more please. Gomez is currently tied so needs to score again. I think he'll score at least one tonight, and of course Germany need to win. The least goals one is gone, Spain won that.

Still, £75 if they both come off
