The scary thing is, this man gets paid for that.

He's nowhere near as bad as Dublin though, he is without doubt the worst pundit on TV. At least ray Wilkins has comedy moments to fall back on.

I'm not old enough to remember this but Oggy played for Liverpool at one point.

I'll also dig out an out game of mine and list you numerous Coventry players, though I'll try and name some.

Hedman, Oggy, Gavin Strachen, McAllister, Dublin, Edworthy, Cartlon Palmer, Paul Telfer, Y.Chippo, M.Hadji, J.Aloisi and certain ROBBIE KEANE. - Now name the season these players where together, Skyblue. :3 (Except Dublin)

regis,hateley,allardyce,gary gillespie,ian wallace......mick ferguson,good story behind this one;)

I used to try and buy Hadji and Robbie Keane on championship manager 98/99 I think.

i like a good story

well he left us in 1981 for everton, then subsequently to birmingham.injuries interrupted his stay at birmingham and in march 1984 he ended up back at coventry on loan

now imagine if you will,we have the birmingham striker on loan and its the last day of the season,we win and birmingham go down,we dont win and birmingham do and we go down,we won 2 - 1 that day with guess who scoring the winner....we asked if we could sign him and birmingham refused and insisted he goes back

Just a thought, how many people watching the England game today will judge the Hazard signing purely on his performance in todays game?

To be fair, I'm kind of liking Englands line up today.. but being Welsh, I'm sorry I can't support you :D

The mentally deficient among us.

To judge a player based on his performance in a friendly is just stupid. It's what he did last season that gives a better idea.

A pretty boring game to watch. In many ways very similar to last week against Norway, get the win and play boring. Which i guess is one way to win the Euro's (Greece did it) but the performance wasn't there in large parts. Keeping possession isn't something England do well, especially the player who have to (Milner and Johnson gave the ball away so many times). The goal shows what happens when you have two higher quality players linking up and Welbeck did his chances of starting the first two group games no harm at all with a competent display overall.

I never though England were in a lot of danger over sustained periods, just the odd chance here and there from Belgium, but better teams would punish the mistakes.

There's plenty of work to be done still, but with just 9 days to go until France, it has to be a worry.

No he shouldn't, the way the FA spout "footballing reasons" is terrible. They don't want the confrontation between Rio and Terry because of Terry racially abusing Anton. He's got every right to feel disrespected, especially when he's not selected for that reason. He's had a much better season than Terry, who is absolutely shit, and Terry goes to the Euros. It beggars belief. The FA need to realise how bad this makes them look, it's not the first time they've left a player out for non footballing reasons.

Terry and Rio comparison for last season, as you will see Terry has no right whatsoever to be going to the Euros.

Personally I hope somebody ends Terry's career. Scummy, racist, wife shagging cunt.

Rio is not there for footballing reasons. Those reasons are that he can't play with Terry. So something's got to give.

No, footballing reasons means left out because of performance. Leaving a player out because he can't play in the same team as the player who racially abused his brother is not football reasons, it's way beyond that. I don't blame Hodgson here, he's just a yes man for the FA, who have once again shown just how bad they are as a governing body.

I've heard that people are complaining about Carrick and Richards not being called-up, as replacements, but they refused to put themselves on the "standby list" so they should go if they're not committed and prepared to be there when needed.

In a way being on the standby list is as bad, if not worse, than not being called up at all. Because if you replace somebody the general feeling is "well, we don't really want you here, but this player got injured and so you're in", which is why I don't blame Richards or Carrick (or anyone in their situation) for not wanting to be places on a standby list. Especially for Carrick, who has had a much better season than anyone in that midfield for England, and yet he wasn't called up because he told the FA that he wasn't going to a tournament to sit on a bench. I'll guarantee you nobody else would either, and it's backfired on England now with the midfield injuries. Want proof that reputation gets in over form? Look at this squad.

Carrick's a prick. I wouldn't take him. If he thinks he's too good to sit on the bench, he's not good enough to be anywhere near the squad.
