I have bought quite a few things from ebay before but Ive never sold anything on there. Im thinking about selling some of the girls christmas dresses that have piled up after so many years. Just wondering, is it complicated trying to sell stuff on ebay or would I just be better off taking them to a re-sale shop?

Its not too complicated. all you gotta do is upload the pictures select the options you want and post them up.

You WILL have to pay ebay to sell items on there. Whether you sell the items or not, you'll pay for it.

It'll be best for you to take them to a re-sale shop and only spend gas on selling them because it's almost more guaranteed.

Thanks! :) I may just start out with 1 dress and see how that goes. If it sells, then I will put another one up and so on. If it doesnt sell, then theres my sign to take them to a re-sale shop.

I have read somewhere on ebay (I think it on someones page of something they were selling) it said something or another "serious buyers only because this is how I make my living" I guess I never realized that someone could make a living out of selling stuff on ebay.

I would recommend Craigs List over e bay.

craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums

Select for your local area and post away.
I use it all the time and have both bought and sold over it.
You can also post in other peoples areas if you want to, But you will have to pay shipping then.
I usually just sell to people in my local area, I do not post my phone number or email addy on the ad though. Just let them e mail you through craigs list, that way your details are kept private and you can pick and chose who you respond to.

i have an ebay shop for my business ,and another account for selling and buying.
its really easy to do ,get to 10 feedback then you can do buy it now if youre selling.
if you buy always use paypal then if anything doesnt arrive or isnt as listed you can put in a report and paypal will always refund you.
when selling check which postal type(1st class here in the uk )means the stuff is insured then if anything goes wrong you can refund the buyer and claim back off the post office.
if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask ,its the one area of computers i can do well;)

i'v had pretty lousy luck with eBay, tryed to sell an ipod and three times the bidding was won by a scammer in Nigeria, the whole thing wasted so much time and i didn't get it sold for a good 6 or 7 weeks from when i first put it up
when i finally did sell it the police got in touch with me, apparently it was a stolen one (i'd brought it off ebay myself) and whoever had brought it off me had had it taken off them. I still had the money, they couldn't get that off me as it wasn't my fault so its all good

but after that i'v completely lost my trust in it, selling dresses should be fine but electrical things are more trouble than there worth
