D'oh OOPS:p

Well as Tash said, maybe hypo allergenic ones....of solid gold. I cant wear gold plated either

:homo: Mine have to be solid gold, generally more than 24K otherwise they start itching, getting warm, and eventually puss and infection. I can't wear the hypo's for long.

Titanium is perhaps the best solution, if you think it might be a gold allergy. I can wear them no problem.

I wore fashion earrings for years without any probs, then all of a sudden all hell broke lose. The doc told me that you can develop an allergy at any time, and nowadays I can only wear real gold.

My niece gets past it by coating the posts with clear nail varnish. I won't recommend doing that, but it seems to work! :D

Sounds like an allergy. Clean the holes every day with peroxide and wear surgical steel earrings.

:homo: Tis what I had to do until they healed fully.

..... and I also use alcohol to clean the earrings and the holes regularly. Along with buying surgical steel and/or hypoallergenic earrings.

I really want to see if Wal-Mart has the solution they give you when you first get your ears pierced. As best I can remember, this is the only pair that has ever done this. And they've been pierced half my life.

Kim, try cleaning the earrings with rubbing alcohol and also rub the earring holes with rubbing alcohol (on a cotton ball) before putting them in your ears. This always seemed to help me.

This is what I do. I clean my earrings w/ alcohol all the time. My ears are the same way. I cant wear fake earrings. They have to be real gold or stainless steel. Even sometimes wearing real ones bother my ears. Its strange.

It's true...you can develop an allergy at any point in your life w/ no rhyme or reason. I developed an adult onset allergy to shrimp when I was about 25...but I still eat them, LOL.

you can repost them. - you can get the posts at a craft store - but I would be scared to break my pearls

or you can coat them with clear nail polish and wear them like that.

or you can make them into dangly earrings

oh and use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol for the puss on the ears - it will dry it out.
