I'm surprised that so many people are not familiar w/ the use of soda to bake cakes. You guys never heard of 7up cake???

No, but Nat I'm the one they designate to bring chip and dip to the office party each year....and I don't mean home made dip.....get the picture? ;)

MmMm 7up cake!!

and i have an AMAZING chocolate cake recipe that calls for Coke. its to die for! makes it so moist!! just like adding mayonnaise or sour cream to a cake. comes out very moist

oh yeah...and another way to cut the calories is to use applesauce

I do this all the time. It makes things a lot moister AND it's lower calorie. I use the unsweetened applesauce and just replace whatever eggs are supposed to be in the recipe w/ it. PLUS you don't have the pain of trying to temper your eggs.
