Remember my talking about the guy who stole stuff out of my dads office?
The dude had been working for us for about 2 weeks, and today decides he's just not coming into work.
He calls at like 8:45, and Kathy asks him if he's coming in and he starts rambling off some nonsense. So she said we'll see ya when you get here.
Doesn't show up...
10:30 he calls back and my dad talks to him. He wants to come in, but my dad says by the time he gets here it'll be 11-11:30 or so, and says don't bother.
Then comes to find out he went out drinking last night and just didn't bother to get up on time.
I find out yesterday that he's talking with the disability insurance he has and they were trying to fight his back pay of 14k because now he's working full time.
I feel bad for the guy, he was born with shortened fingers on one hand (they only go to his first set of knuckles) and he only has one breast muscle, so he can't do too much exercise.
Now come to find out he thinks that having a job will cut off the back pay of disability when he wasn't working. That just can't happen, but he slacks off when my dad gave him EVERY chance in the world.
I wish he'd still be around because now I have to do all the pre-wiring BS in the dead of winter alone... but at the same time... he's not too fast of a learner. I showed him how to punch down several cat 5e jacks, and the first one he did he did incorrectly... but I have tolerance for the guy. I'll teach him along.
I don't wish he'd stay around because he's actually fairly annoying. Two jobs he decides to tell my client that we're all set and we're getting ready to leave, grabs his coat, and walks out the door when I still have 2-3 things to do.
SO I just let him sit out in the cold until he realizes I'm not coming out. After those I told him to just chill out and let me talk to the client about that.
And then he lost one of my fiberglass pull sticks... in a wall... LOL
But oh well, he got lucky he didn't go to jail because his g/f is in school and he has four little girls to support.
