Dumb question

But how do you get the fog out of headlights? Mine are pretty bad. A friend told me to sand the outside, but that doesn't make sense to me...

Any ideas?​

There are no dumb questions. Sanding the outside is if the outside of the lamp looks foggy. You could also use Turtle Wax or even white toothpaste (not gel...actual paste). If its moisture trapped on the inside I dont know what to tell you. I've heard of people drilling a small hole thru the glass to let it dry out inside then sealing with silicone.

You could just replace them too, check ebay.

If it is the plastic headlights and they are starting to fog up/turn yellow there is really nothing you can do to them. They just get worse.

have you tried turtle wax rubbing compound it restores the finish on paint, and makes it shiny again it should work on headlights.

Actually, an hour after my post I tried rear ending an Escalade...it didn't work very well...

Ended up not being my fault with the highway patrol or Geico
