Woke up after nights, went to the kitchen and turned on the cooker to make some pasta...I turned on the wrong ring and didn't even realise until I turned back round a few minutes later...

Oh noooooooooooo!!! That makes me think of the burner covers that people put on their stove. When I was growing up I don't remember having a single friend whose stove wasn't missing one of those covers b/c their mom had turned on the wrong burner one night.

On a positive note, my burned fingers are MUCH better now. I thought I was going to have to debride the skin on the middle one, but it looks to be healing up nicely now.

I knew I should've explained that...I had a feeling you guys didn't use them. They're not used much ANYMORE...but back in the 80s they were EVERYWHERE. They're just large metal lids that cover your burners to make your stove look prettier. In retrospect, it's really a stupid idea...but someone made a lot of money on it. :24:

I have bought them before they are pretty and you don't have to clean the rims of the burners so closely. But yeah, you do have to pay attention which burner you turn on. Hey, does anyone else wrap their burner bottoms in aluminum?

Those cover things are just another thing to clutter up my kitchen. I'd forget to put them back on/remove them/wash them...

I don't, but I do remember my mom doing it in the past.

Probably the most embarrassing mega duh moment happened when I took my car in to get inspected last year. I had never turned the radio on in this vehicle, and accidently got it to work as I pulled up to the garage. The volume was up on like 9, and i couldn't figure out how to turn it down. I kept yelling to him that I couldn't turn it off, and he was yelling back to turn the car off. This went one for like a minute until I figured out he was telling me to turn the key to off, not the radio, but it felt like forever.

How exactly does one even manage to "peel" their fingernail w/ a vegetable peeler??? I don't know how I managed...but ouch!!!

Totally ripped my nail AND the skin underneath.

I just had to go ahead and cut it off.

And yes, my nails really ARE that small. The manicurists at the nail salons ALWAYS mentions it. :mad
