i was thinking more along the lines of something moderated and judged - a little more formal than what you might be used to.

Spoiled? No, not particularly. I'm not acting as though I'm entitled to anything. Petulant? I'm neither bad-tempered nor sulky. 8-year-old? Man, if I'm communicating like an 8-year-old, then you must know some pretty intelligent 8-year-olds.

Moderated and judged? Nah, been there and done that. I was a debate champion in high school. It doesn't particularly work on the internet anyway. The best we have are the debate tournaments, but that doesn't really apply here.

You wanted to know what advice you gave was bad, and I've already told you. If you'd like, I'll tell you for the third time.

Additionally, if you claim that you don't know what I'm talking about again, then you're being deliberately obtuse.

I'm really not sure what to think...I don't like it when older people dismiss younger people based on age, there are plenty of intelligent young people who can give old folks a run for their money.

One of my friend's dads thinks he knows everything about computers just because he was around when they first came out, it's not really justified.
If this situation is anything like that, it's a little bit silly...

I understand English. My point was... if you're only going to pop in once in a while why raise a stink now. If you feel he's baiting you than just ignore him. It's that or reply to him with solid answers.

With reference to your style of posts I was bored with them to be honest. You seem to be stuck living in the past. If that's what you like then so be it but take a bit of wisdom from one old fucker to another. Adapt or fade off into the sunset.

guyzerr, i had no intention of starting a stink. the stink is all retro's and has apparently erupted because his arrogant, know-it-all self mistook a parody on microsoft for serious advice to alexis and has been going off on me ever since.

i live in the here and now, guyzerr and reminisce a lot about the past with my friends and younger people who want to know more about it. i won't lower myself to tell you what i think of the things you write about. mostly i don't pay attention and i don't feel the same need to be insulting as you seem to be -- from one old fucker to another.

kimmy, i'm not dismissing anybody for their age. i'm dismissing retro because he has been incredibly stupid by misapprehending something i posted that was completely parody as seriously flawed advice to alexis.

he's making a bigger fool of himself every minute he carries this on. i've been building and repairing electronic equipment as part of my work for almost 40 years. i know only as much as i need to know about the software and workings of the hardware to load it up and fix it if something goes wrong. i claim no more. don't want to know more and retro's arrogance is one of the reason i loathe computer geeks of any age.

what a joke you are. i'm claiming that you have been foolishly haranguing me for days because you think something i posted as a joke was serious advice. i'll bet alexis knew i was kidding.

this isn't exactly a swan song because i'm not really leaving completely and i don't want to burn any bridges. this community just does not fulfill my needs as a home base to compose my work from. i'll only be here now and then to post things that i'm posting widely and to say hi a few times a week for a little while.

this is a very young crowd and most of you are real nice, intelligent people, you just aren't into the same things me and my real friends and family are at facebook and thoughts.com is working better for me than here.

i seem to have scared sadie off by taking her flirting too seriously. that bothers me. there also are a couple of people who seem to be starting to obsess on getting negative with me, i don't have time for that and the rules here are too stringent for me to deal with it effectively.

Well I read......

Heres what i came to....

1: rep comments are no longer allowed to be reported. You are all "grown ups" and asked for us all to be a little lax so we did.
2: When you start a thread telling people you are going to leave and stating certain things that members have done to "drive you off" you cant expect the thread not to be jumped on so those people can defend themselves.
3: When you insult expect to be insulted back, no one will be warned infracted whatever (another lax on rules situation)
4: i wish you well if you are planning on leaving Tommy and its a shame certain things taken to heart can make a person leave.
