this isn't exactly a swan song because i'm not really leaving completely and i don't want to burn any bridges. this community just does not fulfill my needs as a home base to compose my work from. i'll only be here now and then to post things that i'm posting widely and to say hi a few times a week for a little while.

this is a very young crowd and most of you are real nice, intelligent people, you just aren't into the same things me and my real friends and family are at facebook and thoughts.com is working better for me than here.

i seem to have scared sadie off by taking her flirting too seriously. that bothers me. there also are a couple of people who seem to be starting to obsess on getting negative with me, i don't have time for that and the rules here are too stringent for me to deal with it effectively.

anybody who wants to follow me will find me as tommy tooter at thoughts.com and thomas jay wasserberg at facebook.

have you listened to the lyrics closely dk? this is a very powerful tune and most people only know the melody because of the TV show, i play it all the time on my flute, but when i'm on the side of somebody who knows the lyrics, people cry.

thanks for posting it, dk. you're one of quite a few people here that makes me not want to just tell a few people what i think of them and be done with it. i'm certainly not going to dignify any trolls who say that trolls are bad but are trolls themselves with anything at all.

Yes, I've listened to the song hundreds, maybe thousands of times, it's my favorite song and pretty much explains my whole philosophy on life, I thought you would appreciate it so I posted it here.

thanks fred. like i said, this just isn't appropriate for my home base. it's not like i'm going to disappear, just like my friends alexis and accountability, it's just not going to be as much as the people who hang out here all the time.

not enough action on current events. i'm an activist. too many of the people here don't care about or don't want to know what's going on in the world around them. i don't have the time to spend online just talking shit with people about the weather or some such.

i'll still spread some rep a couple times a week ;)

retro, i've already reported the vicious shit you're sending me in the e-mail and in your rep comments. i'm asking for a mod and would like to know what the policy is on posting things like that here. i think the community would benefit from seeing the way you play your game.

until then, you just continue to be foolish.

i'm twice your age and four times your experience, sonny. better men than you have tried to make me look like an idiot and failed. i've had my hands inside and on the controls of computers longer than you've been alive. i've forgotten more about how to care for them and heal them when they're sick than most people will ever know.

you took offense to a microsoft parody i ad-libbed for alexis. i gave her sound advice. show me how it wasn't and i'll reconsider this. otherwise all i see is an arrogant little punk aching for a fight.

I call that a statement of fact. I don't know what you call it. You challenged me, and then apparently chickened out. Go post a thread in the computer section about it, and I'll prove exactly what you said that was completely idiotic... for a third time. I'm not going to do it in this thread, nor will I hijack Alexis' thread. So, if you want to man up to your own challenge, go do it... and I'll make you look like an idiot, as promised. I don't give a shit how long you're been alive, and unless you have 60 years of experience, then you don't have four times more experience than I do.

guyzer, did you read the post or are you just jumping on the band wagon because retro is getting hysterical?

i'm not going anywhere and i have no spite toward anybody, not even foolish children jumping up and down cursing and telling me what an idiot they're going to make me look like.

i'm a busy guy and i have a need of a platform to work from on the internet. this is a nice playpen and there are a lot of people i like here -- it is just not appropriate for my work. too few people are interested in what i want people to read and too many threads are just idle chatter by people half my age who have difficulty relating to me.

i'm not being childish, just pragmatic.

I understand English. My point was... if you're only going to pop in once in a while why raise a stink now. If you feel he's baiting you than just ignore him. It's that or reply to him with solid answers.

With reference to your style of posts I was bored with them to be honest. You seem to be stuck living in the past. If that's what you like then so be it but take a bit of wisdom from one old fucker to another. Adapt or fade off into the sunset.

i was thinking more along the lines of something moderated and judged - a little more formal than what you might be used to.

do you realize that you are communicating like a spoiled, petulant 8-year old with me or doesn't that matter to you?
 
I'm really not sure what to think...I don't like it when older people dismiss younger people based on age, there are plenty of intelligent young people who can give old folks a run for their money.

One of my friend's dads thinks he knows everything about computers just because he was around when they first came out, it's not really justified.
If this situation is anything like that, it's a little bit silly...
