Friday night was living hell for me. Someone had a party out at the stables where I board my horses and someone thought it would be cute to give my 11 month old colt some beer. Not just a bottle or 2 but a lot. I am talking about gallons. Anyway, I would have never of known, but one of my buddies called me up and he said he was out there and the horse was stumbling around. So I went out there and I had to load the horse up in the trailer and take him to my vet. $1800 later the got him sobered up enough to go back to the stable.
Course, no one knows who it was that was giving him this stuff, but If I find out there will be hell to pay.

and thats unacceptable....someone other than you should have to pay and since the stable is responsable for keeping your colt I would imagine they should have to pay the bill because some ignorant fuck thought it would be funny to give your horse beer and what ever else

I am sure once I produce the paperwork for the vet bill, they will probably give me my money back. I don't see them being hard asses about it. These people are pretty cool and they will I am sure try and find out who exactly was doing this.

On a serious note... that really sucks Mike. I hope you find the culprit so you can get reimbursed.

On a joking note, Someone was feeding a Colt some Beer.

Maybe it was Donnie trying to sabotage tonights game? :(

That's a lot of crap that happened to your horse. There must be a way of finding out who was responsible. Hope you get them.

you should force feed the guys who did it booze until they have to go to the hospital, then make them pay their own bill.

Does the vet think it will have any adverse effects on your colt? Man, how dumb can someone be .. the poor thing could have stumbled and broke a leg or something.

:mad face:

What would possess someone to want to give alcohol to a horse? People amaze me.
Thats just a party foul too, a waste of alcohol.
Im just glad that your horse is okay after all that and Im sorry you had to fork over that much $, especially being unexpected like that.
I hope you find out who is responsible

Wow! I reckon the stables shoulsd be help accountable for that

I totally agree with Chris & Livvy.

That is so unforgiveable and cruel - it is the duty of the the owners of the stables to make sure nothing untoward happens - you have to pay enough to keep yr horses there I am sure.

Hope it will be ok Mike. :)

Well, I am suppose to get my money back today. The stables said they would pay me for my troubles as it happened on their land. I knew they would probably be pretty cool. I will eventually find out who it was that thought the stunt was good fun. Someone will chirp a name or a face.
As far as the horse is concerned. The vet said he should be fine. There shouldn't be any damage or anything that I should be concerned about. I am thankful for that.
