So I went to the store last night before I started drinking to get a corkscrew right. The sign said it was 5.95 or something like that, I figure hell I'll get a lot of use out of this so why not.

I walk up to the Uscan express lane and scan it. It comes up 2.11 after taxes. I'm thinking sweet! Cheap!

So I pull out my wallet and I have two 5s and two 1s in there. Recalling that I'd picked up a dime a few hours ago and that I'd had change in my pocket, I'd have to have a penny.


Wrong. I searched every pocket while this guy was standing there wondering wtf I'm doing waiting for the UScan, and sure enough. I had to break a goddamn five spot.
