It's relaxing Dodge, it puts you in a good mood where everything is funny. You're not worrying about money or work or any problems you're having.

You're describing people that get completely smashed... like drinking to their absolute breaking point. I've never drank so much that I couldn't walk without falling down, and I always remember everything I do. Sometimes thats a bad thing, I can remember doing some stupid shit when i went to a concert. Me and a friend of mine ended up walking through the taco bell drive through once. haha :D

But anyway, it's relaxing. Lets you forget about your cares and worries even for just a night.

But a good amount of people don't remember what the did the night before, even if they are just drunk. I guess what I'm trying to say, is what exactly is it about being in a drunken state that makes people want to do it more?

because being drunk makes most people feel good. not talking black out drunk, but most people really enjoy the buzz and the effects of being slightly drunk. loosen up those muscles and get the conversation flowing!

I mean, sure, if it was some orgasmic feeling or something, maybe it'd be cool. But from every story I've ever heard from anybody, they're similar to, "I got drunk as shit last night and passed out, blah blah blah, it was great". Sure, but WHY was it great? I mean, I feel great right now, but if I go out and get drunk, what about the beer is going to make me feel even better?

Well, I can tell you dont drink much. I can also tell the people in your stories are high schoolers like yourself who want to seem bad ass to everyone else. People exaggerate. The reason people describe what they did the previous night as great is because everything seems like a good idea when you're drunk. plus alot of goods times can be had before someone pukes all over themselves

I understand having one or two beers being relaxing. Probably the same concept as drinking anything and relaxing. But just going out and getting drunk, why is that considered fun?
Most of the time when you go out to get drunk, you go with your friends. It's very fun to be a little toasted with some close friends.
Sorry if it's hard to explain to me. I've just always wondered why it's such a great thing to brag about and whatnot.
Nothing to really brag about, but drinking can be very fun when done responsibly. Everyone deserves to get a little fucked up in their lifetime.
Also, yes, Peter, I've never drank. I tried beer ONCE when my grandpa let me try his when I was probably 15 or so. Hated the taste of it.

then i suggest you try some mixed drinks with single shots. you would probably enjoy it.

Most of the people that I know who are like, "oh man I got so wasted, passed out, it was great," are just teenagers that mostly get drunk every weekend, or pretend that they do... bragging rights, I guess... I dunno.

I would rather just drink a little and still know what I'm doing because everytime I've got REALLY drunk I've ended up falling out of windows or rolling down driveways and thats no fun in the morning...

I mean it just depends on your tolerance to alcohol... and how well you can handle it...

It is pretty good to just drink a little because then you can just relax and not really WORRY about things... but when you start getting shitfaced drunk, your problems are most likely going to be ten times worse when you wake up.

And the only kind of beer I've ever liked is Samuel Adams... but I never go for beer that much.

Sorry, but my views on the subject are that it's not worth going to jail or paying a fine for underaged drinking if I get caught. I'm almost 17, and I've made it this long without alcohol, so I think I'm good for now :D

Theres drinking to enjoy it and drinking to abuse it... and uhuh its a fine line that i myself have crossed many times before, everyone drinks for different reasons be they good or bad but inevitably its about enjoying yourself and doing something you feel you want to do. Each to their own i guess personally Im a drinker and im a very big drinker BUT have never once forgotten what i have done nor have i done something i would regret or blacked out.

Eh, I dont' think I'll ever really get the full concept of it. I don't plan on drinking or getting drunk any time in the near future. :cool I'm the most un-teen teenager there is. Don't smoke, do drugs, no drinking, and I'm a virgin(-insert joke referring to James here?-).

And kudos to you Dodge on that. Also for not bowing to peer pressure or the need to do it to "fit in" as so many other young people get wrapped up in.

There is nothing wrong in drinking and smoking. You're to decide which one does better for you! Alcoholic beverages are created to make you feel happy as well as hashish, cannabis, etc. You move away from fixed routine for a while and the mind responds the way it should be done. It's not a naked assertion. And important is to know where to stop :)
