Drinking and being drunk

What exactly is so amazing about it? I mean, I've never done it, but really, why do it? What is so fun about losing your short term memory of what you did in the past 24 hours and blurting out your innermost secrets to the public? I dunno about you, but I prefer to have a recolection of what and who I possibly did the night before, and all that. I mean, doesn't it bother you even the slightest to know you could have taken it up the ass from some gay dude, and you wouldn't even remember? Sorry if I sound like some loser, but I honestly see no fun in getting drunk.

I can tell Dodge has never been drunk! It's one of those things it's impossible to understand fully unless you've been there. Not recommending drunkenness but that really is the truth, some people like it , some dont. The same with drugs. I like smoking some nice mellow ganja but I really hate the effect of super skunk. At the time some drugs make you feel good but you have to be prepared for how bad you feel afterwards, its up to you to decide whether you think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

But a good amount of people don't remember what the did the night before, even if they are just drunk. I guess what I'm trying to say, is what exactly is it about being in a drunken state that makes people want to do it more? I mean, sure, if it was some orgasmic feeling or something, maybe it'd be cool. But from every story I've ever heard from anybody, they're similar to, "I got drunk as shit last night and passed out, blah blah blah, it was great". Sure, but WHY was it great? I mean, I feel great right now, but if I go out and get drunk, what about the beer is going to make me feel even better?

I undestand having one or two beers being relaxing. Probably the same concept as drinking anything and relaxing. But just going out and getting drunk, why is that considered fun?

Sorry if it's hard to explain to me. I've just always wondered why it's such a great thing to brag about and whatnot.

Also, yes, Peter, I've never drank. I tried beer ONCE when my grandpa let me try his when I was probably 15 or so. Hated the taste of it.

Eh, I dont' think I'll ever really get the full concept of it. I don't plan on drinking or getting drunk any time in the near future. :cool I'm the most un-teen teenager there is. Don't smoke, do drugs, no drinking, and I'm a virgin(-insert joke referring to James here?-).

no you just got some wits about you that a majority of teenagers dont. Alot of teenagers give into peer pressure. Im glad to hear that you havent. That just makes me have more respect for you

You're doing the best dude, there really is no point in doing any of the above unless you want to, not because of pressure and stereotypes from you friends. I bet over half your friends who claim to have lost their virginity, really havent! Be your own man by doing what you want which makes you more of a man than giving in to pressure.

Also, after trying enough alcohols, you find the one that fits you and puts you where you need to go without all the bullshit you described either. Well, that how it works for me.

What you describe ...sounds to me like people who drink at parties.. not many people say " oh i got so shit faced last night i passed out" alone.. they are normally alcoholics and wont admit it.. so what your seeing is 2 things.. one drinking two partying.. now at a party people.. and the oppisite sex..loosen up.. thus allowing you to have more fun with friends and non friends. Also people ...other people do stupid shit which a lot of the time is funny as hell (sometimes not so much.. but a lot of the times very amusing). so when your aquaintencs says something like that, Im willing to bet that mostly they are saying they got drunk at a party and had a blast.. which most the time.. is easier to do when drunk.. sober at a party allows you to realize how stupid drunk people are.. and thus you have no fun.. make sense? Personnaly im a sleepy drunk..lol.. so i just try to keep a good.. smiley buzz going .. but normaly if im the DD then i dont have near as much fun.. like i said.. because the stupid little things that entertain you when buzzed.. dont when not..

I drink beer and vodka mixed...boy was that a mistake. I almost fell off my chair, because my roommate wanted me to stand up. Anyways...drinking is not for everybody. I gave into peer pressure, except I'm in my 20s not a teen at the time. I told them that I hated beer and would never go down that path...minutes later I tried it and loved it. Can't bitch unless you've tried it...
