In April, 29-year old Melinda Kay Jenkins was found dead 24-hours after disappearing in Garland County.
Lieutenant Rodney Neighbors says, “We had some people that were riding four wheelers in this area and just happen to come across it.”
Two months later in June, another woman, 41-year-old Janice Olisa Bills was found dead but a few miles away in Hot Springs.
Lieutenant Neighbors says, “Witnesses that last saw them walking down the road were the last people that saw them and they came up missing so they were either hitchhiking or someone stopped and they accepted a ride from somebody.”
Both women found along a creek in secluded locations off a stream that runs between Bald Knob Mountain Road and Westinghouse Drive. They aren't saying how the women died because they don’t have any suspects.
Lieutenant Neighbors says, “Through the investigation with the police department, state police and the sheriff's office working the information from both crime scenes, they've come up with enough information to be very certain that these are related.
