A friend of mine rescued a beagle puppy from the pound about a year ago (they were going to put him to sleep), well this friend has to find this dog a home, he is a little over a year old, very well trained, I've never had a dog for a pet, I already have 4 full time kids and 2 part time kids that live in this house, I'm worried about offering this dog a home not really knowing the full responsibility of what I'm getting into, I spent some time with him today, he's almost like a kitten, quiet, stays out of the way, he doesn't shed, very well behaved and fully trained, any words of advice, I have to make a decision by Friday

i personally dont like beagles temperament... they are very yappy and snap at you (well me anyway) but you are definitely right to weigh out all the options... especially with all those kids :)

They're only yappy when they're really into playing or excited. Greg has a 1 year old beagle female and she's a great dog. She can get wild and run around jumping on and off of everything, but with the kids she can run around in the backyard all day long.
