i had a buddy who was an army captain commanding a company assigned to managed a nuke depot in vietnam at the height of it shortly after the tet offensive.
when he got home, he retired to venice beach, california and did nothing but stay drunk and give people free pedicab rides until he was murdered during a flare up in the drug war caused by ollie and the boy's cocaine deals.
on this, it should be some relief that there's enough oversight that they busted the drunken nuke handlers.
