Some people understand that a personal life means what it says, it's personal. Would you like sitting somewhere where two people were right next to you playing loud and sloppy tonsil tennis? People getting too intimate on each others public facebook wall is just the same. So the guy could have licked his wife out all night, cooked her breakfast in the morning, bought her flowers and diamonds and you're going to hold it against him because he didn't poke her or whatever on a silly internet site when he can better express his love to her every day in the real world?
only English people say licking out - :) - such a quaint expression

"Quaint" - a word that only Americans use and is annoying as hell! If I ever get elected PM I'm going to ban the word and make it punishable by instant hang, drawing and quartering! :willy_nilly:;)

Amazing isn't the word that comes to mind for me. Also, I agree, if I had a wife, and she posted nice things to me on FB, I'd certainly reply, it's the polite thing to do. However, in general people just put way too much emotion into Facebook, and it's pretty sad.

Could not agree more.

I am a smaltzy person in real life. But I do not have a facebook account and Joe does. So if Joe wrote anything lovey dovey on facebook (which would be real weird) I would not respond which would seem weird to anyone who knew me if they didn't know I had no account I suppose......

Joe mainly has it because of his relatives in Ireland.
