One of my facebook friends is a woman who often posts things about what a great husband she has and how much she loves him. He is active on facebook but never responds. Wouldn't a "thank you or I love you too or you are a great wife" be in line?

In general (not you Fred) people let stuff that happens on Facebook carry too much weight in their personal lives. I'm sure he's very appreciative of his wife (otherwise, I doubt she would be so happy to be married to him) regardless of if he expresses it via Facebook or not. It's really pretty ridiculous how much emotion people put into that stupid website.

maybe they are not friends on FB and as such he cannot see her posts

He is active on facebook. I would only assume they are friends.

There are people who destroy their lives over something on the internet. Amazing how much passion can be wasted on someone you don't really know. For me I would at least respond if my wife posted such things.

Amazing isn't the word that comes to mind for me. Also, I agree, if I had a wife, and she posted nice things to me on FB, I'd certainly reply, it's the polite thing to do. However, in general people just put way too much emotion into Facebook, and it's pretty sad.

Yah but like I said perhaps he doesn't want to look mooshy in front of his friends ( list ) because we don't know who is on that.. Some people don 't like to show that in public..

Does she tag his name when she does it ?

I wonder if she is doing it because she others don't think he treats her well enough..

The internet is a fuzzy and weird place..

I hate to say this but I agree with Darrell that to much of something is not good.. You said she posts often :ninja but that said we don't know the full story so I respectfully just state as neutral..

i find it more odd to care and be bothered by someone not responding to something like that

doesn't bother me I just wondered how others might feel if their spouse was saying nice things about them on a site they both frequent.

Yeah, I think it's a little weird. A friend of mine got reamed by his friends on Facebook b/c he didn't go to her page and leave her a comment saying "Happy Birthday." He finally posted a status and said something to the effect of "look, she's my wife, I told her happy birthday in person not on a stupid fucking website." LMFAO

Some people understand that a personal life means what it says, it's personal. Would you like sitting somewhere where two people were right next to you playing loud and sloppy tonsil tennis? People getting too intimate on each others public facebook wall is just the same. So the guy could have licked his wife out all night, cooked her breakfast in the morning, bought her flowers and diamonds and you're going to hold it against him because he didn't poke her or whatever on a silly internet site when he can better express his love to her every day in the real world?
