Do you think that families today depend too much on group chats?

We live in a digital era, and most families today depend too much on group chats. They do it rather than having conversations face-to-face. However, I really can't blame them since some families tend to be toxic, and when you have something to say, they do not listen and make judgments right away. Therefore, some people choose to use group chats to communicate with their family members. What can you say about it?

Yes, to some extent. Group chats make communication easy, but they can replace meaningful one-on-one conversations. Quick messages often lead to misunderstandings or superficial interaction. Families might stay “in touch” without really connecting, which can weaken emotional bonds over time.

I am a part of a lot of family group chats, especially on Facebook Messenger. I think this is good because it helps you connect with your family even when you are living away. I think this is very common in our world.

I, my siblings and my parents have a group chat on WhatsApp. We had to create and run one because all of us are out of the house. Some of us are in different cities. So we hold our virtual family meetings on the group chat every weekend.
