Interesting topic seeing we're on the internet and everyone is hiding behind a keyboard. The only ones here in a position to say if anyone here is putting on a front are those who have actually met them in real life. I've met Zorak and Amy and the're pretty much like they come across here though Zorak is probably drunker but slightly more agreeable in real life and Amy is slightly warmer and more friendly.

Change them again.

I didn't know a baby will puke if you feed it then change the nappy. I always changed the nappy first because I thought it would be nicer for the baby to have a feed without a full nappy.

Yup they do sometimes. Also, if baby falls asleep during feed, if the nappy is already changed, the baby can.go to bed and not be roused by my changing their nappy. Then as I said before I am very institutionalized and deal with mainly premature babies who are a lot more delicate.

Not intentionally, so I wouldn't call it a front, but apparently I do. People always assume I'm something I'm not. They're shocked when I swear, shocked when I express my opinions on things, shocked at my interests.

I think I'm just overly polite in person.

I have a wide variety of friends. I have some that are religious, some that are pagan, some that do drugs and have a criminal record, some that are straight laced. Sometimes when Ive had some friends get together WOW, that sure doesn't work out. So I do have different facets to my personality for different friends. Is it a front? I don't think so, I truly think it's just a different part of me, not less valid, just different.

That's my two cents.

I'm probably cruder at work than I am at home...that's just the way my mind works and they're a raunchy bunch, the other half isn't the same, he's pretty serious most of the time, so it's hard to be silly. I wouldn't call it a "front" but just an adaptation to my environment. It's just different sides of my personality.

But if I'm in the company of say....a religious group of people, our local priest or whatever, I feel as though I'm putting on a front, I'm aware of my every action.

Do I put on a front? Every day at work when I'm nice to people. It's what I get paid to do. Be nice & efficient.

Around friends & family? Not so much. I tend to be myself. For the most part.

Ditto. This is along the lines of what I was going to say, but I think you worded it much better than I would have. :)

Pfft. Everyone has different faces for different situations.

I don't interact with my boss in the same way that I interact with my parents, and I don't interact with my parents in the same way that I do with my friends.

Different faces for different situations. I doubt anyone behaves exactly the same with everyone in their lives.

What happens when these different worlds collide ?

Also I act the same to everyone. Boss, family and friends. Make it very easy. Also I can swear and talk like a moron with my boss because he is one as well. So that make it easy.

I interact differently with different people. I wouldn't say I'm putting on a front and I would say I am being myself, but what and who I am depends on the situation and the person I'm with. When the worlds collide, I just find a happy medium that works.

It doesn't really happen much, it's not like my friends come to my office to hang out, but if it did come up then you defer to the higher level of respect :dunno for example, if I did happen to somehow be in a room with my best friends and my boss, I would behave appropriately for the fact that my boss was there, not in the way I would if it were just me and my friends.

Do you put on a front for anyone or certain situations?

I don't. Hell fuckin' no. What's the point of it? To hide who you really are? Face reality and stop being afraid of upsetting that something that just isn't!!

I do, yeah. I hold back or change the subject or avoid certain things. I wasn't always like that. I find the older i get the more i hold back and bite my tongue. I tend to save what i'd really like to say for whats really important in life. Why make waves and sweat the small stuff, when not everything needs to have my opinion or my thoughts on the matter... some things as you get older just aren't as important as they once were.

These days, if i don't like something, rather than saying, hey you're a fucking idiot, i instead walk away laughing. Its much better for my health and i must say has made life much more pleasing to some degree as i don't spend my time going over what i said later and wondering hey did i just stick my foot in my mouth again.

I put on an emotional front. I refuse to allow most people to see my emotional side, as it's often used as ammo against you at a later time. I won't allow someone to get such a substantial upper hand over me. Once you know how to control and manipulate another person's emotions, you own them. I don't subscribe to that.
