Do you like using subtitles whenever you're watching a movie or TV show? Why do you like using it? Is it distracting whenever those words are coming up in the screen, or are you very comfortable with it?

What's the last movie you watched using a subtitle?

I like using subtitles, particularly the first time watching something, just in case I miss the spoken word. I don't find them distracting at all. Literally watching The Machine right now w/ subtitles.

Yes, I do. I use subtitles most of the time, especially when I find it difficult to understand English at times. LOL. I also use subtitles when watching Kdramas and Indian movies. Hehe.

I usually do sound and subtitles.

I don't read books like I used to. So, subtitles are a great way to keep reading.

I'm partially deaf, (Cant hear out of the left ear at all, right hear about 80% hearing) and I only watch with subtitles.
Only time I don't watch with subtitles is when I'm at a movie theater and, well, there just isn't an option for that :p

I started watching with subtitles when I was probably around 18 years old. Was watching breaking bad on Netflix on my laptop, and the volume just wasn't loud enough on the laptop with the other noise going around in the house at the time. Turned subtitles on, and honestly, never looked back.

I will occasionally but it is distracting.
My gf at the time started watching with subtitles due to me always watching with them on. We have been broken up exactly a year and 1 day ago, and I asked her not long ago (we still talk) if she still watches with subtitles, and she said she does. She can't go back to watching without them anymore. Kinda funny xD

I've always watched shows and movies with subtitles. I have auditory processing issues at times so it helps me better understand the dialogue if I have subtitles on. My wife does the same thing thankfully so it doesn't bother her.

I am also watching drama or movie with a subtitle but it's not all the time. I seldom watch due to work. I'm busy whole day.

I don't because I feel like I focus too much on reading what I'm watching instead of visualizing it and I feel I'm more of a visual person.

If the movie is in a different language from the one that I am conversant with, a subtitle is necessary for me to follow and understand the movie. If it is in a language that I understand x I don't need a subtitle.

I watch foreign language movies with subtitles (I don't like dubbed movies). I find subtitles to be distracting.

I only use the subtitles for shows or movies when it has accents that are so difficult to understand. Subtitles enhance my ability to hear dialogues and understand stories better.

For a none English movie, yes i definitely need one. For English movies i don't always need a subtitle, unless the audio is not that loud.

I don't have any problem using subtitles to watch movies and TV shows. As long as the subtitle is synced well with the characters when they are talking, I'm okay with it.

I've heard a lot of people say the same thing about not liking to you subtitles whenever they are watching movies or TV show but it doesn't usually happen to me that way. I don't understand the reason why I am like that with using subtitles.
