What kind of music is gonna be popular in like in 10-20 years? I mean this whole hip hop thing aint gonna last forever is it? and what are the kids then gonna think about 50-cent and other recent artist?

i mean i can just see it, ill be workin on my car in the garage or something poundin some snoop dog, and my kids come in and say "oh god dad, what the hell are you listening to? snoop doggs gay. why the hell did people ever listen to that?"

what do you think?

I dont think about it cause by the time it comes out my kids will love it and I will hate it but one thing is for certain Marvin Gaye will live on

ya know what, i agree with you. Music seems to be more computer generated than actual instrument created songs. and i hate that fact. I just hope some people stick to the roots of music and dont forget about all the legendary musicians. I know i will. I would much rather go see a semi-famous band play a concert (with instruments) than go to justin timberlake ya know? I mean yes JT is talented, but i appreciate musicians who play an instrument much more. dont get me wrong singing is a talent but i think you should have to be REALLY good to make it famous with just your voice.

oh ok, i was thinkin maybe it was my posting it on the dedicate a song thread that did it. but damn i love that song. I think it would be fun to sing it to some random girl at the bar during karaoke just to see how she reacts.

actually i have thought alot about this over the years. the music we listen too now will be on the oldies station someday. lol

but ill always love soft rock, 80's, beatles and sappy love songs ect. that will never die in my heart. and i love the oldies music since my dad listened to it all my life growing up.

I've always thought it was funny that if I listen to Hendrix when I'm 70-something (which is definitely a possibility), then it'll be 100 year old music :)
