I believe in this guy. He's the only higher power we need to be concerned with.

Man is the highest power we know and may even be the highest power in the universe. But with all the other solar systems out there who can really say.

I believe in God because thats what I was brought up to believe, and it just makes sense to me. Although I'm not really big on religion, I still believe that He is there and that I should worship Him somehow.

For the participants in this thread who state 'I believe', what is the basis for belief?

My feeling is that when it comes to believe and religion, this is the primary example of the breakdown of human logic in most cases for the self servings desire to achieve eternal salvation.

I know science allows for the possibility of a creator, but it is not the God that organised religions make the god out to be. I'm not sure if I'm open to the idea or not...there's a lot of reputable stuff that falsifies the god thing, but on the other hand, there's still that possibility of the creator, and also for the fact that science apparently can't measure this type of thing, it's beyond its realm.

I neither believe or dis believe. I have no possible way of knowing

A grounded and logical response.

there is a higher power that seeded the earth with life, but nobody knows what planet they're from

That's a maybe, but just as good a maybe as the official religious version of the story. :)

To summarize, there is not enough info to make an informed judgment.
