Judgment is human nature, we judge/evaluate everything around us. However I don't judge (in the way you're implying) someone because they have faith, I judge when they present it as a fact.
I see where you are coming from with this, and it makes sense. Tell me if I am wrong, but you believe that the behavior of putting someone into a category and treating them that way based on their actions is inherent. And when people present what is fact in their minds, but not objective: you challenge or correct them.
I would just like to say that predetermined judgments/stereo-types/assumptions of intelligence are not inherent, they are empirically learned (through experience). Which means it is a culturally held value, and an anti-social thinking error at that. Which, tell me if I am wrong, you are assuming that when they present their beliefs as fact, that they are arrogant or underhanded in motive.
I think that someone presenting what is fact in their minds and not a fact to everyone is what constitutes as a belief. If we all really knew what after-life was, then you would have the right to challenge them and say they are wrong through evidence of fact. What is fact to them, may not be fact to you, but I think it is trivial and anti-social to tell them so. So I think you are being hypocritical in the way that you are reaching out to advertise your belief, and feed your ego.
What you are doing in my mind is like this: I believe in Christmas so I say "merry Christmas" to some guy on the street, whom I didn't know his belief. He stops, looks offended, and says "I don't celebrate Christmas, get it right"
On a subject with something as unsure as after-life, we all share one commonality, we have
beliefs. Which are not objective, due to the unsure nature of our over all knowledge on the subject. So all these people are saying is: "this system of beliefs and fundamentals work for me, come celebrate its benefits with me, I wish to share its joy with you" And fairly so, it may not work for you, but this is where we just say, what works for one doesn't always work for another. So live and let live. In my opinion.
You are clearly a smart guy and the argument can be seen from both perspectives. I thought it would be fun to just share my 2.5 cents on the subject.
Can I get an A-men? lol
