I don't think it's EVER necessary to remake a movie, I wish people would just come up with their own stuff.

How about Lord of the rings? It was impossible to make a real life version back in the 70s before the invention of CGI ect. Same goes with a lot of fantasy films, old fantasy films are generally quite crap.

The American remakes of classic Michael Caine films piss me off the most. The Italian Job...set in LA? Wtf???

No clue, would'nt "The Italian Job in LA" have been better? Unless they were all Italians doing a job in L.A. which we know they were not... ;) Basically doing remakes shows a lack of creativity imo. Recycling is generally a good thing unless we are talking of stories.

I hear the new one was complete Garbage.
I saw the new one and it really was just trash.. I never was a huge fan to begin with but from what I understand its not really a remake at all but a whole newish creation.. at least thats what I felt like watching it.. idk.. not my cup o tea ...

I love Horror and loved the original series, I can't fucking stand remakes though, I knew it would be garbage the second I found out about it.

some years ago the 'blair witch project' hit us....now many were raving and ranting saying how fantastic it was,i thought it was pathetic.....personal opinions;)

Blair Witch fucking sucked, I hate the "found footage" style, it almost ruined Cannibal Holocaust for me.

I wasn't a fan of the remake. I think we could have all done without that one. The only remake that I have been remotely impressed with was the Friday the 13th remake that was released last year. That's only because it paid homage to Friday the 13th VII, which in my opinion, was the best one. The only other remake that I am looking forward to seeing is Piranha 3-D & that's only because it's well .. 3-D.

I think for the most part Hollywood should try being more original & come up with their own ideas, rather than remake movies from our past. But, directors & producers need to make a buck somehow. Why not steal other people's ideas?!?!

the Friday the 13th one was definitely better, I'm kind of interested for the predator remake, because Oleg Taktarov and Danny Trejo are in it.

The appeal of BW is pretending it's real footage and then it takes on a scary nature. But what I can't abide is when I walk out of the theater with motion sickness. :) There are other movies that have done this much better.
