do u lock your door during the day? even if you're home?

It always makes me laugh when I hear old people going on about how things used to be safer and you could leave your doors unlocked without being robbed. Thats because you lived just after the war, were poor so had fuck all worth nicking.

I'm not as good about locking my door as my hubby is. If I'm home I may or may not lock the door. But I always lock the door when going out. Even if it's just to walk the dogs.

And yes, our two dogs definitely announce visitors. They go apeshit!

We don't lock the door when we take the dog out. But we only walk down the street, so we're not far away. We still can't see the door though, so we should, but we're never gone more than ten minutes.

If I'm going around the block with Riley, I lock up. If we walk to Walgreen's or the gas station, we lock up.

And always always always when we get in the car to go somewhere.

My doors are now always locked anytime I'm not home. When I'm home and awake I will leave them unlocked, but if I'm sleeping they get locked.

I don't ever have a problem with people walking in they know that's rude. Even my mom will atleast knock before she comes in and my family knows they don't need to even do that when they come over...as long as they call me and tell me they are coming over first lol.

I always lock the doors. Even when my hubby is home. I also lock my car up too. When we walk the property, I lock the doors too. Cause we usually take the dog with us.

I'd like to think I live in a safe area..... but one never knows. We've had home invasions just a few miles away. The people weren't home at the time.

I suppose no matter what you do.... if someone wants in.... they'll get in.

My doors stay locked 24/7. But since nobody else has said it, I assume I'm the only one that's been burglarized before??? Our house was broken into a few years ago while my mom was asleep in the back bedroom. The burglar was inside the house and had already turned on the hall light. Our dog woke my mom up and scared the burglar off.

My door is always locked. It's a double deadbolt, and only one can be unlocked from the outside. I usually only leave the bottom one unlocked when we're all here, and obviously when I leave, as I can't lock the other. But right now, my roommate is working third shift, and so my daughter and I are here alone at night. So I definitely double lock the door when he leaves for work at night. And I typically have it double locked if I'm here.

I'm naturally paranoid, and I have anxiety, so this is the only way I can ensure that I focus on anything, or that I sleep at night.

We live in South Africa... here the doors are locked, the security gates over them are locked, the access gates are locked, and the windows barred. It's like living in prison, and even so we had an attempted burglary last year while the kids and I were alone.
