Do babies have a sixth sense?

This weekend i went to these fireworks for canada day in my hometown and after, i was walking back to my vehicle along with many other people.

I could hear this small baby, maybe 1 1/2 years old, behind me just screaming her head off. I turned around and her arms were stretching towards me. So i picked her up, and she wouldnt let me go for atleast 3 minutes.

her parents were like "oh im so sorry", i didnt mind cuz all these girls around me were JUST MELTING. i was thinkin "i gotta get me one of these lol".

This got me thinkin

Since babies cant talk, they determine whether they like a person or not by outer appearance. but do you think there is more to their decision than just a persons physical appearance. Can they sense if a person is good or not? or if they are maybe related?
Or did i just happen to look like sombody the baby knew?

If it was scared perhaps anyone who would hold it would make it feel sheltered. You were just in the right area at the right time.

I don't agree with any of you aside from CRZY. They are more intelligent than you give them credit for.

It is a curse :(

No one has a sixth sense - there are only five. There has been some research done lately with babies, where two babies have been left alone together. After a little while (it takes 15 minutes or so - parents watching throught two way mirrors) they will keep each other calm.

Its an interesting thought that perhaps babies are not quite as helpless as we think they are, but I don't think that there is any magic involved either - more like instinctual survival skills.
