i am also going to suggest two things for you to consider adding to your diet. lentils and chickpeas. they're awesome stuff. chickpeas offers carbs and protein and have a low glycemic index so it wont raise your blood sugar very much even though it has carbs in it, very important for someone who is diabetic like me. but in general both are underutilized in america kitchens but very good for you.

but they can make ya fartsy. lol

That sounds like a bonus to me!

you can also try roasted soybeans...they're called soy nuts. they're actually not bad.

Okay, you obviously have no idea what you are doing. While there are some healthy fats, they should be eaten sparingly.

If that was the case, then I would be so fucking skinny since I consume a large amount of fatty food, and my body wouldn't store the fat since I would have an excessive amount of it.

If you eat an excessive amount of fats, your body WILL store them and you WILL gain weight. Seriously. WTF where do you get your information?

Sources:

"Why Eating Excessive Amounts of Fat Makes us Fat" by Chad Tackett

Iv already said that trans fat and unhealthy ones are bad for you and will do bad, healthy fats are NEEDED and tottally vital do not cut them out, if it was the case then id be fat! im not so living proof i think, its also about when you eat and how to get your metabolism to break it all down

I think you will probly find that because your eating so many carbs along with the fats then thats what is making you gain the weight, plus the simple ratio of input and output. low carbs and high fats will not make you fat (obviously exercise is needed but that should go without saying)

Yes, they are NEEDED but if you eat an excessive amount of fat then you will store it. You need to limit the amount of healthy fats you eat.

some more advice/tips/whatever you wanna call them...

switch from regular pasta to whole grain, white rice to brown rice. this will make your carbs better for you and offer you a little more fiber in your diet. avoid cream based sauces and soups, they are teh evil sometimes. unless you make your own and then you can control what goes into it.

i'm a big fan of brown rice. i use uncle bens brown rice (not instant!) it's the best i've found, mahatma sells brown rice but they leave in green kernels and they're not very good, green rice is not something i want to eat so i stick with uncle bens. do be aware brown rice takes longer to cook so be patient.

eat whole grain breads but read the nutrition label. make sure you're getting quality bread. leave the white shit alone, it's fluff and has virtually zero nutritional content.

switch to meats like lean pork (pork loin is a good choice, no marbling of fat) chicken and turkey. grill it, sautee it, do not deep fry it, bake it instead. you can marinade just about any meat in italian dressing and grill it up and it's gonna be very tasty. turkey responds very well to this. also dont forget, leave the skin off.

GET A SCALE. weigh your food. this will give you an idea of how much you should be eating once you are done making changes and also tells you how much more you're eating now. 3 ounces of meat in a meal. it's the size of a deck of cards, not the size of a hubcap off a cadillac like most americans may think.

dont forget to snack. i like fresh raw veggies and since they are fairly cheap fill up on them. veggies may not be your thing but as you change your lifestyle and diet, your palate will slowly change and you will get use to their taste. also eat whole grain crackers. please remember you are not necessarily eating less you are just A) changing how much you eat of specific foods and replacing it with more of other foods and B) changing your diet does not mean eating 3 meals and that's it. my stomach had to shrink and it's gotten use to eating less as i use to eat too much period so you may feel like you're starving, YOU ARE NOT so try not to give in to temptation to eat more.

find subsitutes for bad things you may like. try sugar free candy instead of the regular stuff. most of it is good and i can tell you what i found to be good and what isnt. they make sugar free cookies, no sugar added stuff as well as pudding mixes and jello. i'm still a kid at heart so i like jello and pudding.

eat more slowly. read a newspaper or make posts online while eating. i do this and i find i dont eat as much as im not eating as quickly. avoid trying this with the TV, it isnt distracting enough and the food commercials only make you want to raid the fridge.

soups! you can pack em full of veggies and make just about any soup pretty healthy if you know how. use pureed cauliflower to make a soup creamier, also a potato would work instead of butter and cream. bean soups are awesome as beans are full of protein and i like to use lots of veggies. you know how you see token amounts of celery and carrots in a bean soup? not with mine, it's hearty and chunky with lots of celery and carrots but has excellent bean flavor with a hint of ham flavor from hocks used to make the stock first.

im sure i can come up with more but the point is, you dont have to cut out the foods you like, you should just tweak them so you CAN have them and not feel so guilty for it.

if anyone doubts me, i lost 25 pounds doing these things and i'm in better shape than i've been in years. i look better, i feel better and i've kept the weight off. i'm still going through this so i'm not done but i'm within the medically acceptable range of body fat % so i must be doing something right.

Eat more fats, its simple the body will use them for energy and not store them. beside the more fats you intake the less of it your body will store anyway

You said it right there.

Also, eating a lot of healthy fats is still bad.

I think I have a solution everyone can agree on..

1. Don't eat fast food or drink sugary drinks.
2. Eat everything else in moderation.
3. Exercise damnit!

I started eating a boat load of fruits and vegetables about 3 months ago.
I stopped eating fried foods and hamburgers.
I've lost over 30 lbs. so far.
I'm a completely different person now.
People used to call me 'big guy', now they call me 'asshole'.

i got you beat, i was called an asshole before i lost weight. lol

according to a neighbor that has since moved, i am an arrogant son of a bitch. i think of that as a promotion from asshole given the person who said it.

My favorite is when they order a diet coke with their big mac and large fry...Cause everyone knows that the Coke has all the fat in that meal!

or that somehow it negates all the fat in the meal. lol

if you're gonna supersize that big mac meal, get the regular coke dipshit and drop the pretenses that you somehow care about your health.
