The cruelty of their intent and your rationalization and acceptance of that cruelty.

[[[[Do not blame me for their actions.....you have NO right to do that....Catch them all and hang them if your laws so say and don't grumble....
didn't you admit you believed in 'freedom of expression, etc etc ''?? What a hypocrite you are!!! ]]]]]]

You apologize for their actions with your rationalizations and denial, mazHur.
Your attitudes are obviously part of the problem .

[[[[[Where is this happening?? Not in Pakistan, of course.

I doubt it is happening in some place by people on whom America bestows its blessings. Blame America and the West for that..Will you??]]]]

It's your culture and the issue is your acceptance of these acts against women, mazHur.
And articles on this abuse in Pakistan have been posted in this forum, as well as other Islamic nations.

And now, again, it appears you blame the US for the brutalities built into the fabric of your culture.

You culture simply doesn't take responsibility for it's actions.

..........Pakistan is the third most dangerous country for women in the world. It cited the more than 1,000 women and girls murdered in "honor killings" every year and reported that 90 percent of Pakistani women suffer from domestic violence.

Read the whole 3 pages, mazHur.

This is what has become of your 'Golden Age'.

I do not believe a God created the universe and all of the life inside it. In fact, I disagree with the whole concept of a God.

Let's say we have the Christian God. This God is supposedly a superior being, immortal and wants us to give him credit for everything we do since we wouldn't have done it if he hadn't of given us the ability. He gives us 10 rules - if you break any of these rules; you must repent your sins and prey for his mercy. If you do not beg for mercy, he will send you to an eternal life of misery and pain in a place he calls "Hell". He also has a book with many pages teaching us of his way. This book endorses prejudice, degradation towards women and many other things that could also pass as a "sin".

If you ask me, this "God" is just a narcissistic, supercilious prick.

This earth has been here for 4 1/2 billion years, and over the last 3 1/2 billion of those years, life has evolved from basic RNA life forms in the diverse range of species we see on the earth today, and the extinct species we continually find in the form of fossils, or frozen bodies.

Let's get the modern average life span (around 67), and let's divide 3.5E9 by that number, we get approximately 5.2E7. 52 million average lifetimes have gone by while life has evolved in such a way that you have come to exist. In Christian beliefs, the earth is supposedly around 6000 years old. 3.5E9/6000 ≈ 600,000, so nearly 600,000 Christian earth lifetimes have gone by since the first life forms took shape. This just shows how tiny our lives are, and it does make us feel small. Maybe that is why we created religion in the first place. We didn't want to believe we were really that small.

No. :)
First, the consideration from an evolutionary pov is generational, not lifetime. It's a reproductive issue.
Second, First life could have had generations spanning as little as minutes and as successful mutations built durability, the span would lengthen for some of that early life. How much is speculative, but as I think you can see, the number of generations from first life to humans would be exponentially higher than your model.
Plus, add in a few extinction points that reset that generation span.
Life is amazing.

I never intended for that post to be completely accurate. Just to show how small our modern lives are compared to the age of the earth, let alone the age of the universe.

The new Cosmos reboot had an interesting comparison. Neil Tyson used the analogy of a 12 month (13.8 billion year) cosmic calendar ( originated by Carl Sagan ) to describe a time line from the Big Bang to the present. Modern man evolves in the last several minutes of the last month.
