Debate Tournament v2.0 Finals Results

In the finals of this version of the OTz Debate Tournament, we had HK vs. Anathelia. HK was seeking to add a second straight tournament win to her list of accomplishments, while Anathelia was trying to upset the reigning champion.

HK came out victorious, winning by a margin of 3-1. The comments of the voters are as follows

HK's Votes

This was actually rather more easy than I was expecting going by previous debates by these two.

Ana's opening statement was not really clear cut one way or the other - it was too much "on the fence" and that allowed HK to form a solid argument one way or the other.

Ana got going a little by making good points regarding allocation of funds but ultimately what swayed it for me was the points HK made regarding the benefits outweighing negatives and the killer blow was the percentage of the federal budget that the programme takes up.

So my vote goes to HK.

My vote goes to HK as I felt Ana sat on the fence to open with and also rambled off the point a bit.

HK - sounded like she knew what she was talking about and supported her view well.

Anathelia's Vote

I'm voting for Ana because I think she did a good job of supporting her argument through research and facts. She had a rocky start with her opening statement, but pulled it together nicely in the final three rounds.

Thanks to those of you that voted, especially the three that took part in the tournament and voted like they agreed to at the beginning.
